EURO 35 - 40 Per Person Sharing Per Night Bed & Breakfast

Kenmare has Ireland's most temperate climate and to facilitate visitors to this beautiful region we are open all round. Rockcrest House offers luxurious accommodation on a quiet scenic road just a few minutes walk from Kenmare town centre. Marian has individually decorated all rooms to a very high standard.

Taken from the San Francisco Chronicle, 2001 on Rockcrest House:

"Location, location, location! This place was wonderful: within a 5-minute walk we had a beautiful holy well dedicated to Mary, a prehistoric site of a dolmen stone circle, the Kenmare River Valley, Cromwell's bridge from the 13th century and across a pedestrian bridge, the interesting town of Kenmare, complete with great restaurants and pubs.

The price was incredible! It cost us just $22 a person with four sharing a room, one with a great pastoral view.

A nice sitting area was at the guests' disposal as late as needed. There was also a nice outside area, where we were served tea upon our arrival, overlooking the rose and rock garden."

Praise for Rockcrest House:

3 October 1994:

"Dear Sir

Now that the holiday season is drawing to a close, I write to pass comment on a visit which Mrs Murphy and I paid to Ireland in the summer. I feel qualified to write to you as my travels this year took me to places as diverse as Newcastle, in the North of England, Devon in the West, Wales, The Gambia and Kerry.

In late June to early July we visited Ireland. We stayed for five days in a 'bed and breakfast' at Rockcrest House, Gortamullen, Kenmare, Co. Kerry which is run by Mrs Marian O'Dwyer, with cheerful assistance from Mr. O'Dwyer.

The weather, the scenery and the local atmosphere combined in a memorable holiday, but the main contributing factors were the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. O'Dwyer and the spectacularly high standard of accommodation, food and comfort that was placed at our disposal. We enjoyed the standards of a first class luxury hotel without losing the intimacy and friendliness that are the delight of all well run B&B establishments. The traditional Irish breakfasts were most pleasantly varied and the absence of strict time limitations helped to stimulate the most interesting conversations with other guests.

It might be demeaning to mention the subject of costs, but Mrs Murphy and I had already agreed that 'Rockcrest' offered the best value for holiday money when, much to our surprise, Mrs O'Dwyer offered us an unasked-for long stay discount - a delightful gesture which we appreciated very much.

We now look forward to many more visits to Kenmare in the years to come, as pampered guests at Rockcrest.

Yours faithfully

P MURPHY"
